What you will do:
Lead development projects including Official Plan and Zoning bylaw amendments, Secondary Plans, Site Plan approvals, Subdivision and Condominium Plan approvals;
Attend, facilitate, and make presentations at public consultation events, neighbourhood information meetings, Committee/Council meetings;
Undertake development application review for municipal clients;
Provide expert witness testimony at OLT hearings and related proceedings;
Monitor development applications and liaise with municipal staff and review agencies;
Undertake site visits to assess locational context, document existing conditions, surrounding land uses;
Assist in the preparation of concept plans, site plans, report graphics and coordinate with technical support staff;
Conduct research in land use planning issues in Ontario;
Keep up to date and informed with relevant legislation and prepare memorandums to keep colleagues and clients updated as needed.
What you offer:
Minimum 3-5 years related and progressive experience;
A planning or urban design degree or diploma from a recognized college or university;
Strong research and analytical skills;
Strong problem solving skills including the ability to assess critical issues;
Strong organization and project management skills;
Strong communication and presentation skills;
Sound knowledge of Provincial legislation and solid understanding of municipal planning practices;
Strong understanding and demonstrated creativity in developing and responding to urban design;
A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle;
Membership in OPPI is an asset.
