Role Objectives
Reporting to the Director, Development, the Development Planner will assist with all entitlements and approvals to advance Urbacon project objectives.
Responsibilities
Liaise with various agencies and government approval authorities to monitor and advance the status of Urbacon development applications;
Prepare presentation materials related to development proposals utilizing computer based graphics software;
Prepare draft documentation in support of various development proposals such as application forms, concept drawings and plans, Zoning By-Law amendments, Official Plan Amendments, and plans of subdivision;
Create and maintain internal land files, complete with Official Plan, Zoning, survey information, topography, applicable development charges and other relevant information related to Urbacon's land portfolio;
Assist with property investigations and due diligence related to prospective land acquisitions;
Co-ordinate Agenda materials for meetings as required;
Assist members of the Properties Development Management group and other Urbacon staff on an as needed basis as assigned by the Director, Development.

Some Travel Requirements, own vehicle is an asset
Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
Driver License is an asset
Candidate Requirements
Post-Secondary education in Urban Planning or related field;
Familiarity with the Planning Act and related regulations;
2-3 years relevant experience in Planning or Urban Design field;
Design experience;
Possess advance skill levels in AutoCAD;
Well versed in graphic design software (Adobe Creative Suite i.e. InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)
Membership to OPPI and/or CIP is considered an asset
Construction experience and/or knowledge is an asset
