We are currently seeking a Director of Development Services and Engineering to join our team. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, the Director of Development Services and Engineering is responsible for the overall management and operation of municipal functions of engineering, planning, building, and.  The Director manages engineering including master plans for transportation, water and wastewater, capital projects, the Planning Act requirements, heritage, the Building Code Act functions, environmental compliance for consolidated linear infrastructure and other water and wastewater requirements, climate change initiatives, training, and GIS.

• Post secondary education and professional designation in Land Use Planning, Engineering or a directly related field with current membership in the professional association.
• Minimum of eight (8) years’ progressive experience.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Municipal Act, Environmental Assessment Act, Environmental Protection Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Highway, Traffic Act, Development Charges Act, Assessment Act, Building Code Act, and Planning Act and other applicable legislation.
• Extensive knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices and methods as applicable to a municipal setting including sewer, water, road design and construction techniques combined with knowledge and understanding of land use planning and development theories and principles.
• Experience working in a leadership role with proven ability to manage, coach, motivate and develop a team.
• Prior experience working in a small Municipal setting would be considered an asset.
• Must possess excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills.
