Responsible for the interpretation, analysis, evaluation and implementation of complex development applications and planning policies, and the preparation of detailed reports with recommendations to Council, both individually and in support of the Senior Planner; providing the public, other Municipal departments and Regional and Provincial authorities, information on both general planning matters and specific applications; attending various public meetings (Council, Committee of the Whole, Committee of Adjustment, public/neighborhood information meetings, Council-appointed Committees, Ontario Land Tribunal Hearings) to provide information, make presentations, and receive input into planning initiatives; implement the goals and objectives of Vaughan Vision.At employee request, this position is eligible to take part in our hybrid work model as outlined in the City's Alternative Work Arrangement Policy.
• University Degree in a Planning related discipline.• Minimum of three (3) years’ municipal planning experience.• Experience in delivering planning projects with minimal direction.• Well-developed written, communication, organizational and presentation, criticaljudgment, analytical thinking skills, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.• Membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners is preferred.• Ability to use various corporate computer software programs, as required.• Ability to read and interpret plans, surveys, and material submitted in support ofapplications.• Ability to deal courteously and effectively with the public, staff, developers, electedofficials, etc.• Knowledge of Urban Design and architectural styles and built form.
