The City of Brantford is rapidly growing and to keep up with the demand in development services, we are hiring a Senior Development Planner to join our team. The Senior Development Planner will report directly to the Manager of Development Planning and will provide professional planning advice to City Council, other City departments, the general public, development community, and other government agencies related to land use planning and development. Primary duties will include reviewing, processing, and providing recommendations on development applications including Official Plan and Zoning By-law Amendments and Draft Plans of Subdivision/Condominiums, and Site Plans among other work, and presenting Planning Reports to City Council and Committees of Council, and preparing all required implementation documents. The City of Brantford has a major greenfield development area and so experience in Block Planning is an asset. Related duties of this position include liaising with all stakeholders involved in the land development process to ensure all concerns and requirements are addressed, arranging and participating at neighbourhood meetings, serving as the primary resource person for communicating information on development related activities, and representing the City before the Ontario Land Tribunal and other planning related tribunals. Another significant role of this position is to mentor junior planning staff in the department and to take on a leadership role as Acting Manager on an as needed basis.
WAGE/SALARY RANGE: $45.53 to 56.91 per hour (35 hours per week) plus benefits.
