This position is eligible for a hybrid work model. When attending an event or meeting in person, your primary office location will be based out of City Hall, 426 Brant Street. Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.
As part of a team striving to achieve the City's land use and growth objectives, this position is responsible for undertaking planning work to provide an advanced level of planning knowledge and expertise assisting with formulating long-range plans, policies and strategic initiatives.
This position is responsible for authoring reports and recommendations to Council on matters relating to the City’s land use policy, development applications, Official Plan amendments, rezoning and subdivision applications. This includes general Official Plan amendments and reviewing and making recommendations on policy initiatives of senior levels of government.
University degree (4 year) in Planning or related field, plus membership in the Canadian Institute of Planners or equivalent; 4 years relevant professional planning work experience at the municipal level; At least one year of policy planning experience; and a strong working knowledge of computer applications, spreadsheets and databases.
Salary - $82,534 - $103,168 (Grade 10 – Under Review)
